How to broadcast with OBS? Print this Article
Step 1: Download OBS First, we need to download the OBS software on your computer. You can do this by visiting the official website: https://obsproject.com/ and look for the download option for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Once downloaded, install it by following the on-screen instructions.
Step 2: Open OBS Once you have installed OBS, open it by double-clicking on the icon that will appear on your desktop or in the applications folder.
Step 3: Set up the stream Now we are going to set up the stream in OBS so it's ready to send to the RTMP server. Follow these steps:
- In OBS, go to the "Settings" tab located at the bottom right.
- Click on the "Stream" section in the left side menu.
- In "Stream Type", select "RTMP Streaming".
- Now, we need to obtain the URL, the RTMP server key, username, and password where we will send our stream. You can get these in your control panel at https://oracle.streaminghd.cl:2020
- Enter the URL in the "URL" field and the Stream Key in the "Stream Key" within OBS, the username and password.
Step 4: Configure the video and audio Before starting to stream, let's make sure to properly configure the video and audio in OBS:
- Go to the "Settings" tab again.
- Click on the "Video" section in the left side menu.
- Make sure the "Output Resolution" is set to a value that your computer can handle smoothly. You can try with 1280x720 (720p) or 1920x1080 (1080p), depending on your computer's capability. Also, remember not to broadcast over the KBPS of your plan or else the server will disconnect you.
- Go to the "Audio" section in the left side menu and select the audio device you wish to use for your stream, such as the microphone you have connected.
Step 5: Start streaming We are almost ready to start streaming!
- Click on the "Start Streaming" button located at the bottom right of OBS.
- If you have set up everything correctly, OBS should connect to the RTMP server and start streaming your video and audio.
Now you are streaming through an RTMP server using OBS. You can share your streaming URL with your friends and family so they can watch what you are streaming.
